It’s been a while since I’ve posted and all that time in between, I have been working on setting up my new business, Solo Social. Since being unemployed, I have been at home educating myself about business and building my company on the backend. It had been about 4-5 months since my return from my road trip and about 6 months without a job. Fortunately, thanks to a combination of moving home, stimulus checks, and unemployment, I was able to focus all my attention on working towards my business launch.
Although I was staying at home, I felt largely uninspired and I really missed travel. I decided that I needed to change my environment and hit up my friend to the DMV who allowed me to stay for a bit. I booked an economy fare with JetBlue for just under $40 one way and flew to DC mid-March. It was there that I launched my website and had my first few prospective client meetings. It felt good to get out to Florida and into an environment that actually helped motivate me. Our schedule was to work on the weekdays and explore on the weekends.
Whenever I travel, I truly try to make the most out of my experiences. I was thrilled to make it in time to see the cherry blossoms bloom at the Tidal Basin in DC and stand up for the Asian American Community at my very first rally for “Stop Asian Hate.” It felt so good to travel again and there will be more blog posts to come from this trip. Whenever you feel uninspired, look for what makes YOU happy and go after it!
