4 Free Socially Distanced Things To Do in NYC

While I'm sure that this list could definitely be longer, I am going to go off of my personal experience and recent visit to the city. Largely, NYC's attractions are free and outdoors. While it may be intimidating to visit one of the most populated cities during a pandemic, I was surprised to feel pretty safe. Here are four socially distanced things to do in NYC: 1. Dumbo Brooklyn One of Brooklyn's most popular neighborhoods is DUMBO. Probably at least one influencer you follow has a pi[...]

Autumn In New Hampshire: The White Mountains

It's officially my first Autumn in the Northeast and I was so excited to experience this true changing of leaves accompanied by colder weather. I was staying in Boston at the time, but we decided to take a day trip to New Hampshire to the White Mountains to go on a day hike. From Boston, it was a two-hour trip. For those of you who have never heard of the White Mountains before, it is a mountain range covering about a quarter of the state of New Hampshire and a small portion of western Maine in[...]

13 Things To Do In Boston, MA

I think the neatest thing about visiting Boston is the fact that there always seems like something new to discover. The neighborhoods make you feel like you are visiting a completely new place even though you're still in the same city. So many things to discover...but anyways I hope you enjoy this list! 1. Take in the best view of Boston and Cambridge by going Kayaking on the Charles River 2. View the Picturesque indoor courtyard at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum 3. V[...]

Day Hike Outside DC: Great Falls

Located only 15 miles from the US Capitol is Great Falls. It's a great day hike that lets you unwind from the city life and connect with the outdoors. What I really enjoy about the hike is that the trails run right along the Potomac River so there was a great view the majority of the hike. I went with some friends from college, so it was 3 miles of good company. NOTE: Getting to Great Falls is a $20 admission fee. We discovered a little trail off the main one and hung out in a rocky secti[...]

Visitors Guide To Washington D.C.

Just a heads up, I am no expert when it comes to the D.C. area, but I can definitely share some things along my journey that helped along with some fun things to do. STAY In regard to an ideal neighborhood that is close to the National Mall and steps away from the Capitol Building, I highly recommend staying in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. The neighborhood is very nice and safe. Per my budget, we stayed at a decent Bed & Breakfast in the Capitol Hill neighborhood that was around[...]

Woods Hole Hostel Experience

As I've mentioned previously, I just can't drive more than five hours a day. I needed one more stop in between Asheville, NC, and Washington, DC. I only needed to book one night so I discovered Woods Hole Hostel in Pearisburg, VA. This is my second hostel stay! (Read about my first hostel experience here) Getting to the hostel is a bit of an adventure in itself. The hostel is situated wayyyy back in the woods as it is appropriately named Woods Hole. However, upon arrival, you arrive at what[...]

The Best Way to Experience Atlanta Outdoors

While many may encourage you to stay indoors during the pandemic, it is also important to get some fresh air. Here are fun some things to do in Atlanta outdoors: Visit Piedmont Park Piedmont Park is hands down the best park in Atlanta. It is located in midtown and is surrounded by the Atlanta skyline. There is plenty of space to walk, have a picnic, ride scooters, and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. I took my friends there after work and we enjoyed the sunset and took some photos.[...]

An Afternoon At Driftwood Beach

At around 5:30 PM, I arrive at my very first stop on my solo journey: Driftwood Beach, Jekyll Island, GA. I had heard about the large pieces of driftwood that rested on the beach and needed to see them for myself. What was once a maritime forest, is now a sandy shoreline with weathered branches and fallen trees. You can visit the official Jekyll Island website, here. Getting There Since I was heading north from Florida, I took the exit off of 95. Making your way from the exit to[...]
