Day Hike Outside DC: Great Falls

Located only 15 miles from the US Capitol is Great Falls. It's a great day hike that lets you unwind from the city life and connect with the outdoors. What I really enjoy about the hike is that the trails run right along the Potomac River so there was a great view the majority of the hike. I went with some friends from college, so it was 3 miles of good company. NOTE: Getting to Great Falls is a $20 admission fee. We discovered a little trail off the main one and hung out in a rocky secti[...]

Visitors Guide To Washington D.C.

Just a heads up, I am no expert when it comes to the D.C. area, but I can definitely share some things along my journey that helped along with some fun things to do. STAY In regard to an ideal neighborhood that is close to the National Mall and steps away from the Capitol Building, I highly recommend staying in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. The neighborhood is very nice and safe. Per my budget, we stayed at a decent Bed & Breakfast in the Capitol Hill neighborhood that was around[...]

Woods Hole Hostel Experience

As I've mentioned previously, I just can't drive more than five hours a day. I needed one more stop in between Asheville, NC, and Washington, DC. I only needed to book one night so I discovered Woods Hole Hostel in Pearisburg, VA. This is my second hostel stay! (Read about my first hostel experience here) Getting to the hostel is a bit of an adventure in itself. The hostel is situated wayyyy back in the woods as it is appropriately named Woods Hole. However, upon arrival, you arrive at what[...]

How To Gain A Travel Companion On a Solo Trip

While I had planned this to be a SOLO trip, I am not going to lie and say that I wasn't afraid of going to a completely new place alone. I secretly wanted the company of a travel companion, but not so much the commitment that came with it since it's not always easy being with someone for extended periods of time. Savannah was the first stop and solo experience going somewhere and not knowing anyone at all. Atlanta was different for me. My best friend came and visited me on the same day I had ar[...]

The Best Way to Experience Atlanta Outdoors

While many may encourage you to stay indoors during the pandemic, it is also important to get some fresh air. Here are fun some things to do in Atlanta outdoors: Visit Piedmont Park Piedmont Park is hands down the best park in Atlanta. It is located in midtown and is surrounded by the Atlanta skyline. There is plenty of space to walk, have a picnic, ride scooters, and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. I took my friends there after work and we enjoyed the sunset and took some photos.[...]

Two Weeks in Savannah, GA

Savannah is a historic town of many charms. Cobblestone roads, giant oak trees, historic homes, and SCAD are some iconic things that make up the charming town. It's definitely a town that can be visited for a day trip, but you can see the majority of the landmarks within a couple of days. I created a little Savannah travel guide for you! I arrived in Savannah, GA the same day I visited Jekyll Island. I know...it was definitely a full day of travel and I was definitely exhausted. However,[...]
